When I first won a place at iSPY 2011, I met with the easyJet crew from iSPY 2010. I was told that iSPY was life-changing, that I wouldn't be able to comprehend how intense and amazing the experience would be, and how words couldn't quite do the event justice. I admit I didn't believe it. Now... I do!
Walking into iSPY on Sunday night, I was greeted by an energetic welcome team, given all my paperwork and my first bag of goodies. Great start! Bright and early Monday morning, we made our way to the welcome speech to meet our fellow iSPY'ers... cabin crew from all over the World in an amazing variety of different uniforms, our iSPY ambassadors and trainers and the management team. Christine's welcome speech made me feel I was part of an elite group involved in something very special.
The workshops were short and sweet, covering what we needed to know with a very good standard of training. The organisation was excellent - we rarely experienced any 'downtime', and this was because the ambassadors were great at getting us from place to place on time. Some of the tasks and challenges set seemed unusual, but always had a learning outcome. One in particular that sticks in my mind was the Group Challenge... to go out and buy a gift for another of the iSPY crew. It seemed like just good fun at the time, but the amazing and emotional reactions of some of the recipients was very eye-opening. Frankie's speech about the thought, care and empathy that went into choosing our gifts really struck a chord with me, and it has made me see inflight gift purchases in a very different way.
The sponsors were fantastic. Over the course of the week, we got to see a really fun side to them, and their input and involvement was very much appreciated, as were the copious amounts of freebies! We never went hungry or thirsty with three full meals a day and drinks and snacks available 24/7. I certainly ate my year's allowance of chocolate in just 1 week!
The days were so full that by Friday afternoon, I felt like I'd been at iSPY for 3 weeks. After a day of hard work, we had just about enough time to jump in the shower and get changed before the evening events, and what memorable events they were. The beautiful setup and inspiring speaker at the Philosophy Dinner, entertainment with iSPY's Got Talent, the chance to have a flutter at 'A Night At The Races' with a fish & chip stall and ice-cream van INSIDE the hotel, and the hilarious Family Fortunes. I went to bed exhausted most nights, but it was completely worth it.
The iSPY Gala Awards night is undoubtedly the most extravagant event I have ever been to. I'll never forget the entrance we made and how I felt like a celebrity. To win an award was the icing on the cake and my walk up to the stage, to collect my medal, makes me smile whenever I think of it! The evening was the most fun I've had in ages, and although I danced until the end, I wish the night could have lasted for several more hours.
I left iSPY with loads of new friends from all over the World who I'm sure I'll keep in contact with, and thanks to iSPY and its sponsors, I also came home with more freebies than I know what to do with. The two large bags left in our rooms on the Gala Awards night were amazing to come back to, and I've certainly sorted half my Christmas presents from it! More importantly, I also left iSPY with some fantastic new skills and knowledge, as well as a much more positive outlook on things, and it is now that I have started to notice the subtle changes in me. At a recent easyJet Talent Night, when others around me were criticising acts, I found myself clapping along and cheering!
Since our participation in iSPY, my colleagues and I have become much more involved with the inflight sales team at easyJet. Cabin Crew managers ask for my input and opinions on crew incentives, my face now adorns the intro page on our latest retail brochure, the Inflight Retail team come to us for feedback and ideas on crew guides, and we have all won Golden Tickets to easyJet's 'Spirit' (the staff recognition scheme) event in Disneyland Paris next year. By far, the biggest thing we have been asked to do is get involved in easyJet's own version of iSPY - 'Boot Camp'. Each of us will use the skills we learnt in Brighton to present a Master Class on Sales Generating PA's, Product Merchandising and Selling Techniques, as well as being ambassadors during the 2-day event. To be asked to do this is an honour, and as the winner will gain a place at iSPY 2013, I'll do my best to convey just how life-changing that prize is likely to be!
To all of iSPY... to Christine, the management, the trainers, the ambassadors, the sponsors, my easyJet team and to the rest of the World's Greatest Selling Cabin Crew, thank you for what has to be one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I had an awesome, truly life-changing time, and I'll never forget the week that was iSPY 2011. Cheers!

ISPY 2011 is simply incredible! It changed me from inside outward. Everyone, every activity and every event touched my heart and hence, encouraged me to get rid of my bad behaviors to adopt new and positive habits. All the training, challenges and meeting new friends were intense and overwhelming but it was indeed what pushed me further. I do miss ISPY dearly and I truly hope I will have an opportunity to go back to ISPY 2013. I would like to thank everyone who sponsored, trained, coordinated, organized or participated in ISPY 2011 because without any of you, ISPY 2011 will not be the same! Though ISPY 2011 has ended, I believe ISPY 2011 Family continues to grow and bond. Please remember there are three of us in Hong Kong Cathay Pacific and we are here for you guys too! I love you ISPY Family and see you soon! Hugs!

ISPY has done it again! For a second time I had the privilege to attend what can only be described as a world class event. This time as a supplier instead cabin crew, once again I was immediately caught up in the energetic, electric, unique experience that is ISPY. The speakers were very dynamic and informative, the Supplier Showcase yielded wonderful contacts, information and new friends. And the Gala—well I heard it described and rightfully so like being at the Oscars! The staff is warm, accessible and professional-- just a joy to work with. It was so wonderful to reunite with my ISPY family. Thank you ISPY for everything, until we meet again!
Bill Sailors, ISPY Event Ambassador, US Airways
Dear Christine, Steve, and everyone at ISPY HQ.
It was an honor and pleasure to be a part of ISPY 2011. Thank you so much for inviting me back.
The reason I wanted to return to ISPY was that it had been such an amazing experience for me, and I wanted to help be a part of recreating that experience for others.
ISPY gave me a new insight into great customer service, namely the realization that inflight retail is a part of a good customer service experience. It reinforced what I already knew about customer service, ideas like a smile genuinely creates a pleasant experience. ISPY also gave me tools to enhance the inflight retail experience, and therefore increase sales; tools like a sales generating PA, and effective product merchandizing through the cart topper.
What I most cherish about my ISPY experiences, however, is the wonderful friendships that I have made. I have been blessed to have met again, in places around the world, the wonderful people I got to meet and know at ISPY. Since ISPY 2010, I have had reunions in Baltimore Maryland USA, Dublin Ireland, Manchester UK, and London UK. The best reunion, however, was at ISPY 2011 in Brighton.
Again, thank you so much for the wonderful, life changing experience of ISPY. Although I have tried, I don’t think that words can convey what a wonderful experience ISPY is.
Ive ip, Cabin Crew, Dragonair
To me, one week in Brighton had brought lasting memory: More than the fact that my skills of in-flight sales has been enhanced, I've also come to realize that ISPY is a worldwide, multiple culture organization. My colleagues and I met many amazing cabin crew members there and they were very passionate and totally adorable!
And I know that this wonderful experience could not have been real without the great effort put in by ISPY staff. Thank you again for bringing the event to life, as well as to giving me a chance to explore my potential. I've now learnt further of what I can do.
Thank you very much!!!
Cat Coleman, Cabin crew, Virgin Atlantic Airways
Wow I just cannot stop talking about ISPY! People who have been involved with ISPY told me I would have the best week of my life! Not only were they right, my expectations were exceeded! I had the most fun, yet hard working week of my life so far.
I felt proud to Be part of the worlds greatest selling cabin crew 2011 family! I have met so many new friends and colleagues! It was fantastic to meet people from all over the world who share the same passions as I do!
I really did learn so much from this week and I am now using that knowledge on board and within my career! I cannot say thank you enough to all the team who put ISPY together and worked so hard to pull off the greatest event of the year.
Everyday there was a range of activities to complete all which were insightful and fun! I really was shocked about how much I learnt and how much I took away from ISPY. It truly is amazing!
A huge thank you to the sponsors who really did create a fun learning environment!
Thank you again and cannot wait to see everyone again!
Katie Windsor, Cabin Crew, Thomson Airways
Two weeks later and I can still rememeber my time at ispy as if it was yesterday..... I am no where near over it!!!! I had the most amazing week of my life!!! to be honest words cant really describe how it has changed my life. you must experience it to fully appreciate how it makes you feel.
Each day is different and exciting because you just don't know what to expect. I have walked away meeting friends from all around the globe, people I know will be friends for life. You work hard at ispy, get to learn new skills that become a useful tool in the role of cabin crew, and really feel appreciated for all the hard work you do from day to day!!! you don't walk away empty handed, the free gifts are the icing on the cake!!!
I really do believe no one can understand this life changing event until you experience it for yourself. I want say say a huge thank you to all the sponsors and trainers at the event who really helped make the experience as amazing as it could be!!! you never stopped!!! Your energy helped fuel our experience to want to be the best!!!! And I can't thank you enough!!!!
I feel so privileged to say I was one of the best selling cabin crew of 2011!! Every time I hear that it makes me smile!!!!! thanks to Christine and all the Ispy team for changing my life. I featured as part of Ispy 2011 and the benefits I have taken away will stay with me forever!
Simon Creed, ISPY Event Ambassador, Thomson Airways
From the bottom of my heart, a massive thank you to everyone at ISPY for giving me the opportunity to be part of the biggest ISPY yet!
I am still completely overwhelmed by it all and i am only just coming back down to earth! An amazing venue, in an amazing setting, surrounded by amazing people who have so much to offer. Once again it was non stop action from start to finish and a complete privilege to have been able to take part. It really does hit home how much work and preparation goes into this prestigious event; from superb workshops, training sessions, assessments, evening activities - the list is endless. And of course the Gala night was a huge highlight and absolutely magnificant - everybody looked like stars and that is exactly how we felt!
It was such a pleasure to meet you all and congratulations on everything you achieved.
My sincerest thanks to Christine, the team and all the sponsors for your kindness, generosity and guidance.
Jamie Steel, Cabin Crew, bmibaby
Well what did ispy 2011 mean to me? FUN, FUN, FUN, I arrived un-sure what to expect, slightly de-motivated, un-sure of myself and capabilities and my barriers up........ It took less then 2 hours for my barriers to come down and the real me was let loose to enjoy the ispy experience.
The training seminars were well structured, enjoyable and above all actually left me questioning "well would I buy from me??" and the answer was no. But thanks to Christine and the team I can say hand on heart it is now a big YES, I cant wait to get back on-line and put in practice what I have learnt and with the possibility of training the new entrants my motivation and passion for the job is back and bounding.
As for the social aspect, we were all winners, I have made some life long friends, experienced different cultures, laughed, cried but above all loved every minute chatting with crew, managers and trainers, I have never networked so much in one week.
For those of you looking to attend ispy in 2013, I have one tip. Take any mis-conception you have of work, yourself, ispy or anything else for that matter, put them all in a box, close it, put in the back of your cupboard and I can assure you after the ispy week you will never have to open that box again.
Some of us were born to fly, others to sit on the fence and let life pass you buy, so spread your wings and embrace the ispy experience......
Mitchelle Chua, Cabin Crew,
Singapore Airlines
It's already been 11 days since returning from Brighton, but I am still feeling the glow and I must admit to having some withdrawal symptoms from what has been a challenging, enjoyable and rewarding iSpy 2011 . Thank you to the organisers and participants for the wonderful memories which I will always cherish and of course i have a great appreciation for the abundance of gifts.
I look forward to sharing the experience and knowledge i have gained with my colleagues in Singapore and I will endeavor to practice and incorporate the skills I learned with the aim of increasing my in flight sales :) .....and setting myself the goal to return in 2013! Well done Christine you did a great job and thank you for the tremendous team of trainers! A big thank you of course for the generosity of the sponsors; COTY, MARS, POTFOLIO PARTNERS, DIAGEO and DFASS to name a few.
When I need cash , I will remember and pratice KASH !....
Even though I didn't win an award, perhaps as a result of inadequate preparation,! Proper preparation on the social front meant winning a lot friendships with people from all over the world, so i consider myself very much a winner on that front.
Raynard Khor, Cabin Crew, Cathay Pacific Airways
iSPY 2011 was certainly an unimaginable & unbelievable astonishing experience for 3 of us. We've never thought of being shortlisted from the selection day and finally being chosen to represent our company to UK for this. We could still remember clearly how 3 of us met and worked together for the dragon's den proposal, prepared for the iSPY's Got Talent, prepared our presentation and studied the iSPY brochure. We have to admit that was so much of hardworks and preparation but after the entire thing had come to an end, we're really glad that we've put in our 100% in every single parts that left us no regret.
The first day when we met all the other World's Best Selling Cabin Crew, that was the most amazing moment that we got to see these amazing peoples from different airlines and different cultures. That feeling was simply indescribable, everyone was there at their best with their unique & breathtakingly beautiful uniform. We're so proud to be one of them and we couldn't be anymore fortunate & grateful that our management sees us and believes in us.
Excitement! That's the word best described our feeling in Brighton. Every single day there was so much fun and fruitful, the day started early and ended late, however, we still look forward for the next day without feeling tired. Receiving the gifts and chocolates every day from the generous sponsors was definitely the best thing.
I can't think of any better event else where you are given the opportunity to learn, to make friends, to improve, to grow, to be inspired, to have fun, to drink, to see the best, and to receive so many gifts. I felt like going there with an empty glass and came back with a full glass of cocktail with garnishes. The entire experience, the peoples and the memories will stay forever and it's certainly one of my sweetest ever.
Gala night was the best and I was overwhelmed by everyone & everything.
The committee, the crew and all the trainers are amazing, their dedication is truly inspiring. I will continue to share my iSPY experience to peoples around me.
Thanks so much to iSPY, I have grown to be a better person and I came back INSPIRED!
Leigh Mallard, ISPY Training Team 2011, easyJ
In 2010 I became part of the I Spy family and little did I know what an impact it would have on my life. I studied hard, did my utmost very best and to my utter delight won an award. In fact I won two. The second was the friendship of a bunch of the most wonderful people you could ever hope to meet, people who are now friends for life.
This year I returned as a Trainer and my third award was meeting you all. I was so proud to be there to train you and cheer the winners on that fabulous friday night. But in my eyes you were all winners just being there and it was an honour to be part of it. I truly hope that I may be part of many more to come. I can only repeat what I wrote last year.
If I Spy was a perfume Coty would not have a bottle big enough. ( There's a challange Marcus)
If I Spy were a drink it would be J2000,000. ( Bigger bottles please Bob)
If I Spy were a chocolate Mars would run out of chololate. ( Thank you for the I Spy Martin)
Thank you Christine, Steve, Frankie. Helen and Mads for letting me be a part of 2011.
Bonnie Frances Thorpe, Cabin Crew, Tuifly
Well I would like to say on behalf of the whole Tuifly team that the ISPY 2011 the best experience ever was. It was our first time at the ISPY event but it really is a life changing experience , as promised. I have never been so lucky to meet so many wonderful and totally positive people, and that in one room and in one week, I am sure that the earth must of been out of balance for that week. We would also like to thank the absolutely fabulous trainers, ambassadors and of course helen,Frankie,Steve and Christine . We have learnt so much in that one week and I am sure that our peers will also have the advantage of learning something from us. Thank you to the sponsors who were not only generous but also brought us closer to their products in a very interesting and non forgetting way. So to say it in short : Tuifly loves ISPY . Hope to keep in contact with all those lovely and wonderful people we have been so lucky to get meet. Lots of love, Bonnie, Daniel and Herdis
Ayse Elliott, Cabin Crew, Thomas Cook Airlines UK
Well I don't know where to begin....... Since July when I found out I was attending ISPY 2011 I was told by previous entrants what to expect and how amazing the experience at ISPY is!! Well all I can is yes they were right but no I was not prepared for the amazing events that were held during the week. without attending this event for yourself I think it is impossible to understand how challenging yet rewarding ISPY is. From emotion to emotion is how I spent the week....everyday was a new experience and every evening was just so amazing and well prepared. Everyday amazed me at how much thought, consideration and planning had gone into it. From Christine right down to the hotel staff everyone involved wanted to be there and made sure that we felt the same. There was never a dull moment......I have made so many new friends, learnt so many new skills (including how to get ready in 25 mins for an evening dinner) and Throughly enjoyed the whole experience. The time, money and effort put in to this prestigious event are 100 percent worth it.....I want to thank everyone for giving me this opportunity.......I will never forget this experience and very much hope I will be a part of the next event.
Sending well wishes to everyone involved and many thanks again Missing everyone and the whole experience this has definitely made an in pact on my life!!
Mattias Nybom, ISPY Training Team, Novair
What can I say, that all you guys haven’t already said so eloquently… This year I attended ISPY as a trainer, and it was a great honor to be a part of the team that impressed me so much last year! The team behind ISPY is an extremely professional and hardworking bunch of people, and I’m even more impressed now than I was last year!
My journey to ISPY 2011 started in September when I attended the “first round draft pick” of Train the Trainer I. I was then honored to be chosen as one of the trainers of ISPY 2011 and got to attend the next phase of education in Train the Trainer II in October. The things I learned during those two weeks, not only about how to be a presenter, but also about myself was amazing, and I recommend everyone to take the chance and apply to be a trainer in 2013!
November came and ISPY 2011 with it! On Sunday the 13th the Hilton Metropole in Brighton started to fill up with anxious and anticipating crew from all over the world! A friendlier and more outgoing bunch of people must be impossible to find! Every one of the 85 crewmembers behaved perfectly throughout the week, and made our jobs as trainers very easy! Thank you for that!
The thing I remembered most from last year (when I was attending) was the amount of helpfulness and friendliness that the trainers and ambassadors showed us who were competing, and I hope that I and my fellow colleagues have succeeded in delivering the same amount this year! I will cherish my worldwide ISPY family for as long as I shall live; you people (both last year and this year) are honestly the most wonderful kind of people I have EVER met!!
I had a blast learning everybody about the ISPY way of “relationship selling”, because it’s a selling technique that I personally think is the only right way to sell! I believe that if you succeed in creating a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere onboard where the passengers feel at home, sales will pretty much come automatically! If you add high product knowledge, a selling PA-announcement and a few maximizing selling techniques to that, you have yourself a recipe for success! And remember: Everything you do in the cabin either increases or decreases confidence in you as a salesperson, because…“People buy from people they like”!
Take care everyone!! Big warm hug, Mattias
Mercedes and Grethel, Cabin Crew, Pluna
A week later just wanted to thank you, and all Ispy team, for the wonderful week we spent in Brigthon, for the help with everything we needed.
We learned a lot and have meet people from all over the world, with different cultures sharing the same work, has been very gratifying and rewarding.
The organization has certainly been perfect, congratulations!!
Warm regards, from Uruguay!!!
Kelly Hewitson, Cabin Crew, Thomson Airways
WOW, where do I start?! When I found out that I would be going to Brighton in November to represent Thomson Airways I was told that it is an amazing experience and that it is hard to describe until you have been and experienced it for yourself, boy they were not wrong!! Now that I have been a part of it I understand what people meant. It is a great privilege to have spent the week with 'The World's Greatest Selling Cabin Crew', one that I know will stay with me forever. ISPY has been a truly life changing experience and the most fabulous, wonderful and eye opening thing that I have done in my flying career. I would give anything to be part of the magic again.
Christine, the sponsors, trainers, management, hotel staff and everyone involved in the whole process do the most brilliant job, everything was perfectly timed and organised and we were made to feel very special. I have described it to my family as being treated like a celebrity. Everyday everyone was smiling, happy, kind and so proud to be a part of this unique and awesome family. Everyday we worked hard, learnt a lot and had a brilliant time whilst doing it. Each evening the activities and the lengths that were gone to to ensure we had the most memorable experience far surpassed my expectations! Seeing a fish and chip van and a Mr Whippy in the Hilton was not something I had expected and I love telling people about that!
Not only has ISPY, the week and the fantastic people I met been in my mind every day since leaving Brighton, so has the training. The KASH concept and certain sayings will always be part of my life now WHICH MEANS THAT I will be spreading the word to my fellow crew and maximising onboard sales. Frankie, Helen and all the training team were fab and really encouraged us throughout the week working very hard to ensure we came away knowledgeable and better people for it. Being a part of ISPY has given me more confidence and I thank you so much for that.
Meeting everyone involved, learning so much and being part of ISPY 2011 will forever be in my memories and I have a special place in my heart for you all. Thank you so much for the best week ever. I really hope we can all meet again at ISPY 2013, what an honour that would be to be among the class of 2011 once again. It really was a pleasure. Thank you to everyone who believed in me, all of the ISPY team and most of all Christine for inviting me in to your exclusive world.
J.N Runo, Cabin crew, Kenya Airways
ISPY for me was life changing in so many ways! First i got to interact with so many people from all over the world and that in itself was a class on its own. When signed up to perform at the ISPY got talent,We(Team Africa) were kind of worried that the rest of the crew may not get the music or the dance but to our amusement it was very well received. which made us feel very much appreciated and welcome.
ISPY has challenged me to look at things through the eyes of othe people and also to think about things from other peoples perspective.I have made life long friends and my flying has changed cause all of a sudden i seem to "love" the customers so much.
Thank you for the ISPY! Thanks so very much from the bottom of my heart for the best thing that has happened to me in my flying career(esp winning Gold for Product merchandising).ISPY will always remain a highlight!
May God richly bless the ISPY team and all the sponsors.
Im forever grateful
Kirsi-Marja Juutilainen, Cabin Crew, Finnair
Thank you ISPY 2011!!! It was an honor to represent Finnair in ISPY 2011. It was the best week ever. I’m still touched by how encouraging, supporting, kind and sweet all the people (Christine, trainers, suppliers, ambassadors and the hotel staff) in my ISPY family were. I miss you all.
The KASH is so amazing concept which I believe makes a difference. I really learned a lot during the week and I’m definitely going to teach those things to my Finnair family. It was funny to notice when leaving from Heathrow I was already looking those products in the shops differently. Thinking which are features and benefits of those products. Later on board I was looking our in-flight shopping magazine and I did the same thing. It felt good knowing that you can do it also with your own airline’s products.
Training sessions were absolutely perfect I couldn’t ask more. Learning was so fun but still efficient. Trainer’s team you ROCK! You are my role models and I really hope to be part of the ISPY family again in 2013.
The World’s Greatest Selling Cabin Crew 2011 you are the greatest I’m so proud of you! Miss you all!!!
The TRT team pulled off the seemingly impossible. This year’s ISPY event was even better than last year!
I enjoyed all the speakers but found the presentations by Hamish Taylor, Alan Chambers and Wayne Hemingway especially inspiring.
Thank you all for the great effort and deep thought you put into the ISPY event which has paid off with crews returning happy and motivated, geared up to try out their new skills, and managers’ heads full of inspiring food for thought.
We’ll be back again next year.
Best regards from sunny Antalya
Stella

Paula Calton, Director of Sales, Trinity Conferences
I have to applaud you and your team on the amazing event you delivered. I spoke to a number of the delegates as they arrived on Sunday and there was a great deal of nervous anticipation. By the time I spoke to them on Friday evening they were giving glowing reports on what they all considered to be an fantastic experience that they had all benefited so much from.
The Gala Dinner was a spectacular event and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and met some very nice people both then and the previous weekend. Your team all made me very welcome so please extend my thanks to them all.
I believe that the staff at Hilton Brighton Metrople worked hard to do all they could to ensure the success of the event and hope that opinion is shared by you and your team. If there is anything we can do to assist you please do let me know.
Trevor De'Ath, Surveyshack
I know ours will be just one more voice amongst a chorus but we would also like to thank you and the TRT/iSpy team very sincerely for an amazing evening on Friday. You do fantastic work. To be able to share in the finale of what is so clearly a life changing week for such deserving people from right across the globe was both humbling and inspirational.
As relatively small our contribution may have been, we are nontheless so proud to be associated with what you all do and very much look forward to continuing to work with you and the team, and to build up to the January 2013 event.
We hope you are now resting and recovering from all the excitement!
Congratulations and thank you again!

Just a quick email to say thanks so much for a brilliant week at iSPY. It was such a fantastic experience to be involved with, and it was amazing to see how much of a difference the training made to the cabin crew first-hand. Please pass on my thanks to the whole team – it really was a great week! The whole event was packed full of useful, practical information and learning – I can’t wait to start writing up the piece for Frontier.

I just wanted to thankyou and your team of directors, managers and trainers at ispy for an amazing and inspiring week in Brighton.I have loved every minute of working alongside the other 41 airlines and worlds greatest selling cabin crew and have made friends for life at ispy. It was also a priviledge to meet the sponsors and suppliers and learn so much more about the products we sell onboard. Can't wait to get back in the cabin and use the k a s h concept and really maximise sales. Really hope to be part of the ispy family in 2013, thankyou all at ispy once again for such an amazing week you and your team are truly inspirational, warm and friendly people.

To Christine and the entire iSPY team
WOW, what else can i say about this years event ? having the honour of being invited to this years event in a very different capacity, i was amazed to be able to see the 'behind the scenes' work from another angel. an extremely, almost overwhelming, amount of hard work is carried out to bring together one of the most amazing weeks that cabin crew could ever attend. i cant put into words the personal rewards i have received from being part of such an exclusive family of truly genuine and sincere people, this really has been the highlight of my year. i didnt for one moment think that you could possibly improve on last years event, how wrong was i ?! the true grit and determination of all involved, to make sure things go to plan and run as smooth as possible is testamont to the love and support they have for not only the event but also for each other. i am honoured and privileged to think of myself as part of that team. thankyou seems such an understated word but i mean it from the bottom of my heart. i also think the catchphrase for this year should be 'Which means that......' !!
iSPY is contagious, and i am more than happy to continue to help spread it around !! with all my love and best wishes Karen

'How to put down on paper one's feelings for such an amazing event! Lets use some emotive words shall we, challenging, vibrant, emotional, spectacular, unforgettable which means that myself and all other ambassadors were yet again inspired to learn more, sell more effectively and challenge ourselves to be better people. On top of all of that I have made some amazing friendships that I hope will last a lifetime and I look forward to meeting up with some or all of you at some point and in some place wherever on this amazing planet we find each other! Thank you to all involved in what has to be the event of the calendar for 2011.
Steven Anzulewicz, Cabin Crew, US Airways
Dear ISPY Family,
WOW – I am still having ISPY withdrawals! Words cannot express my gratitude for the ISPY’s team of talented trainers and ambassadors that enhanced the lives of the 2011 crew! Kudos to Christine and Steve for such an amazing event! What a life changing week. It is a challenge for some to understand how in one week I experienced such a life altering event; I’m still trying to gain my voice back after a week of telling everyone about my experience. I have made so many wonderful friends, gained so much knowledge and have grown both personally and professionally because of my ISPY experience. To all my colleagues, I miss you and will treasure our time together, so let’s make a concerted effort to keep in touch. To the ISPY team, thank you for your kindness, knowledge and professionalism, please know I am honored to be part of such a prestigious group. Keep clapping, dancing and smiling! If anyone’s travels ever bring them to Philadelphia, it will be my pleasure to be your host. My best to you all!

From the moment I was announced as a winner from my airline and that I will be going for ISPY 2011 in Brighton I knew this was going to be educational and fun. However from the moment I arrived on Sunday evening rather very late still bumped to some ISPY ambassadors at the designated desk for information, they had already closed but the moment we asked a question they were ready to go back to work and helped us with every question we had.
Come Monday morning, after breakfast, gathered in Oxford room Christine was absolutely glamorous and her welcome speech added more words to my description of ISPY 2011, not that it would be educational and fun, but also bigger, brilliantly organized and exceptional, and was proven come Sunday morning when I was leaving looking back at all the lovely people, whose been so so helpful and lovable, whom I will always cherish for the experience.
Every trainer was just awesome, sharing their ISPY experiences just made me want to learn more, their helpfulness made me a different person, their knowledge filled everyone’s head to exhaustion yet we asked for more, we came for more, there no words for these amazing people (Mattias, Steve, Ken, Bill, Frankie (ooh Frankie) just to name a few) but above all was the ISPY training technique,, KASH has a special place in my heart.
Every evening in ISPY 2011 made me a celebrity (I know I have it in me but the week there proved that you can never have enough of fun)nothing will top ISPY got talent night, night of the races, family fortunes night and the gala dinner(ooh! gala dinner).
The venue for the event can never be so perfect than this, beautiful hotel, amazing venues within, right by the sea, 5 minutes walk to everything from Brighton pier to shopping street (shopaholics loved this) to restaurants.
I consider myself blessed to had have this opportunity to present my airline there, to learn that much in 5 days, to have that much fun in that amount of time, to meet all the people who were there, to attend the biggest ISPY so far, to make so many friends (a personal record to make that many friends from all over the world in 5 days).
ISPY 2011 rocks!!
Peggy Ho, Cabin Crew, Cathay Pacific Airways
I was lucky enough to be selected to attend ISPY this year. It was truly an inspiring and life changing week for me. I can't write beautiful words to express my overwhelmed feelings towards ISPY. But trust me, you are going to enjoy it so much so much that it will be in your memories forever in your flying career. I want to thank the training team, the ambassador team, the event coordinators and each and everyone of you the greatest selling cabin crew...I will miss you all and hopefully we get to meet again for ISPY January 2013.
On a side note, if you are selected for next ISPY, bring an extra empty luggage with you because you are going to get lots of goodies from our fabulous sponsors. :)
And thank you for the ISPY for giving it to me...
Best Regards,
Peggy Ho

It really was a life changing event for me. I got a lot of love from everybody, WHICH MEANS, it is time for me to share it with my fellow workers. I have never made so many friends within one week. I have never known somebody cared about me so much when I was tensed. I will never forget about the experience at iSPY. Now, no more tears. I will move on......... Special thanks to Louise for your warm heart to come to hug me everyday.
Ramzan Namlilar, Cabin Crew, SunExpress
There are many words to say about ISPY 2011. But I really do not know from where to begin….sometimes one sentence tells everything.
‘’it is highly recommended. If you are planning to be impressed, looking for a competition, arranging a thorough training, wondering about true excitement and hoping to meet the world’s greatest people, Just Be There .…’’
Sarah Ward, Cabin Crew, easyJet
It's been a few days since I returned from iSPY and I am still on a high from Friday evenings Gala night! I still have a pile of gifts that I need to find a home for and a head full of new ideas to put forward to my airline. It does also feel very strange to not have all of iSPY class of 2011 by my side!
Despite having spoken to last years easyJet representatives about what to expect, nothing could have prepared me for the week that I have experienced! To be amongst the worlds greatest selling cabin crew was unforgettable! From day one in the breakfast room where we were all politely smiling at each other and secretly commenting on who's uniform we liked the most, to Friday when we were all sobbing our hearts out at the thought of having to leave! Every single one of the cabin crew there were truly inspirational.
What can I say about the trainers!? Their ability to draw the best out of each and every person in the class room is something that they should be extremely proud of. For me, the workshops gave me the confidence to realise that I did deserve to be there as well as an incredible amount of knowledge that I can't wait to share with my colleagues! I aspire to be a trainer at next years iSPY and hope that, if successful, I can be half as good as they were.
Christine and her team should be so proud of themselves for creating the iSPY family and I feel honored to be a part of it!
Roll on 2013!

I just want to say a huge thank you to all involved at ISPY for giving me one of the best weeks of my life. When I arrived in Brighton I didn’t know what to expect but all my apprehension soon disappeared as we were greeted with a warm welcome Monday morning and the excitement began! Meeting cabin crew from around the world was fantastic and by the end of the week we were one big happy ISPY family with a special connection that will always be close to our hearts.
Christine and all her ISPY team - Frankie, Helen, Steve, Helen C, Madelaine, Peter, all the trainers, the managers, the suppliers, the ambassadors, the organisers and even the hotel staff were truly amazing and made us all feel so special from day one with their warm friendly smiles.
The week was packed with Training sessions, entertainment both day and night but most of all fun. The ISPY professionalism from the team and their excellent programme made sure we all came back to our airlines with knowledge, skills and confidence and not forgetting the KASH concept which is brilliant. To finish the week with the Gala Awards ball was magical.
On a personal level I have amazed myself in what I can achieve and gained more confidence so all I can say is thank you ISPY for giving it to me. If I could turn back time and do it all over again I would but for now I will return to Aer Arann and tell all my work colleagues what a life changing week this is and tell them all the new wonderful friends I have made around the world.
Once again, thank you Christine and the ISPY team.
Annette Heffernan, ISPY Training Team, Aer Lingus
Well where will i start...... I have been on a roller coaster of a journey since September.!!!! ISPY 2011 for me was the best week of my life. I was fortunate enough to proudly represent my airline at such a great event. To resume my feelings of my week, I've used a couple words from a popular song we all know!
Now I've had the time of my life No I never felt like this before Yes I swear it's the truth and I owe it all to you Cause I've had the time of my life and I owe it all to you
Yes, I owe it all to you, the wonderful team at ISPY, Christine and her amazing team, to the incredible cabin crew from around the world, the sponsors, the trainers, the ambassadors and everyone who makes this event possible, I say thank you. My week at ISPY is truly a time in my life that i will cherish forever. During my week at ISPY I have grown on a professional level, I go back to my airline boosted and more confident then ever. I've made great friendships that will last a lifetime. I feel privilege to have a new family now, my ISPY family, but most of all I feel privilege to have the KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE, SKILLS and HABITS to pass along and share with my colleagues onboard at Air Canada.
Once again Thank you, from the bottom of my heart
Daniel Nalbandian, Cabin Crew, Air Canada
I was fortunate enough to represent my airline Air Canada, to be one of the two cabin crew at iSPY 2011 this year. This experience has been the best I have ever had in my career since I have started flying. The relationships that form with cabin crew from around the world and coming together for all the same thing we are all passionate about, improving our sales culture to be stronger and better every day. The knowledge we have gained, selling techniques and emotional intelligent behaviors we have adapted, will and have made us better cabin crew and better people in our every day lives. After I got home from iSPY I was feeling such a withdrawal from the new family I met at iSPY and wished the week would have started over again. This experience is like no other, and anyone who gets the opportunity to go and represent their airline is a WIN in itself.
“I just want to express my warm thank you to you and all your wonderful staff. The sincere service and the warm help you have given me during this, our first ISPY Event, has made me feel very grateful for being a part of the ISPY Family.
It was a true pleasure to see how well organised and efficient you all are and how your positive attitude towards change and improvement shows in all you do. I especially appreciated that you, on stage, choose to admit the need of improvement also of the Dragon’s Den.I think it is such a strength when someone admits their shortcomings and shows their sincere willingness to improve.
Please take the time to relax and enjoy the great success of the event you just pulled off with such excellence. Me, on my side, I already look forward to January 2013!
My kindest regards,”
Alison Watson Director Customer Services, Thomas Cook Airlines Ltd (UK)
“I just wanted to drop you a quick email to say a huge thank you for our award on Friday night. We were delighted to be recognised for our achievements. We had an amazing evening and I hope you also had a great time.
The crew found the whole week extremely inspirational and very beneficial.
Thanks again, Kind Regards”

"Following iSPY 2010, I can remember saying how iSPY is a focal point of mutual respect, passion, humour, knowledge and enthusiasm. This years event has surpassed that and is now a shining beacon of motivation, self regard, kindness and being the best that we can be each and every day. I feel so privileged to be part of this unique airline alliance that stretches across the globe. When you leave iSPY, you feel like a new person. A better person that can take on any challenge safe in the knowledge that with positivity, knowledge and kindness on your side... you will always succeed.
My iSPY journey began in 2010 when I felt so honoured to take part in the event. I left feeling on top of the world having made new friends and gained new skills. Over the next year I became I brand new Cabin Crew member. I was aware of everything that made my customer journey special and how to positively maximise sales from outstanding customer service. I have been able to enhance my own airlines sales culture and from the skills iSPY and TRT taught me, I will forever be grateful.
Being part of iSPY 2011 has been the culmination of a year of anticipation and preparation. I cannot thank the sponsors. suppliers, concessionaires, media partners and TRT enough for making this event the life changing experience that it is. I most of all have to thank Christine Martin and her late husband Ray. I was not fortunate enough to meet Ray but will be eternally thankful for the event that has been created, that is iSPY.
Becoming a trainer at the iSPY 2011 event was a journey that I will never forget. The training team are like my family. We found out so much about each other and ourselves, our strengths and weaknesses and because of this openess... the iSPY event was simply exhilarating for all of us. We had a passion to deliver an outstanding level of service to the Worlds Greatest Selling Cabin Crew and we hope we did them justice. But from seeing everyone's face everyday, smiling, crying, thanking iSPY for their personal journey to "finding themselves again" I hope that we helped in our own special ways. As a team, we have to thank Frankie Gair and Helen Ford Higgs for making us the trainers we are today. They are without doubt two iSPY Guardian Angels who live and breath the values and behaviours that make iSPY what it is.
Being part of this experience really is gaining the elite membership into an exclusive, members only club. iSPY has changed me into a confident, happy, and ambitious person. It has also shown me how having the highest regard for yourself and others can only have a positive impact on your life. It was an honour to meet everyone at this years event. We are all friends for life and yet again..... the event was a success!"
Kenneth Johnstone, ISPY Training team, easyJet
As an award winner at iSPY 2010 I was really excited to be asked to become a trainer at the 2011 event, and in order to be able to do this I was required to attend two train to train courses. Each week long course, running in September and October would prepare me, and provide me with everything I needed to know to allow me to stand at the front of a classroom and train what I had been taught as one of The World’s Greatest Selling Cabin Crew a year earlier – no pressure then!
It was unbelievable to be able to experience iSPY only once, but to be invited to be part of the ‘family’ for a second consecutive year was a huge, huge honour; I was massively flattered.
Train to train week one required me to prepare a presentation on my iSPY 2010 experience in order that our wonderful trainers, Frankie and Helen, could identify my training style; and then went on to introduce me to training in general and the content of iSPY 2011 in terms of training sessions. It was great fun to be reunited with other winners from 2010, but hard work too with some long days (though I think this was all part of the plot to prepare me for what was to come).
I really, really wanted to do my best as it was not a given that all of us would make it through. Much to my relief however, as a group Frankie and Helen advised us that we would all progress to the second week. This was in no small part down to their dedication and patience throughout the week. A number of friendships were rekindled too…
Shortly afterwards I received an e-mail advising, much to my delight, I had been paired to train with Annette Heffernan. I also found out at that point I would be training Product Knowledge and Customer Service.
So, going into week two I already felt much more prepared, knowing exactly what was expected. Practice, practice, practice with Annette ensued. But it wasn’t all work and no play. It was great spending time again with the whole training team in Brighton, not to mention the wonderful dinner which Christine had treated us to during the week, as well as the one arranged for us in our first week too.
The next time we were all to meet we would be ‘live’. Not just the small training team but all of this year’s World’s Greatest Selling Cabin Crew – exciting! A little nerve wracking but definitely exciting.
When I arrived in Brighton the day before iSPY 2011 was to begin, I hit the ground running – I was buzzing. The Sunday involved last minute preparation and practice before taking my first of four sessions on the Monday. I was still a little nervous but the moment myself and Annette kicked off that session the nerves were forgotten and I had truly been bitten by the training bug. Besides, there was little time for nerves. Out with the training sessions there was always something else to be done. But it was such a good feeling to be a valued part of the bigger team.
After the first session had been delivered, the feeling was great! To have pulled it all together having never trained before, to receive positive feedback… Bring on the next session!
The whole week was such a highlight, but specifically for me delivering the training itself and the iSPY’s Got Talent night were personal highlights. I’m not sure which one of us thought it would be a good idea for the 2011 training team to perform Steps’ Tragedy on stage. That was more nerve wracking for me than being in the classroom!
There are so many highlights from throughout the week they are too many to mention. Suffice to say, would I trade the early mornings, the packed days and the late (and often sleepless) nights? Not a chance!
As an attending crew member you can only imagine the hard work that goes into the whole event. As a trainer, I was privileged to actually witness and appreciate what it takes to put it together – and credit where credit’s due. I only hope that in some small way, shape or form I may be given the chance to be involved in future iSPY events in the years to come.
Louise Bolton, Cabin Crew

The excited but nervous feelings that I was experiencing before arriving in Brighton, were swept away almost immediately upon arrival. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. I feel extremely honoured and so proud to have been involved in ISPY 2011 and this is a memory that will never leave me!! To everyone that I met, whether it be crew, trainers, managers, suppliers, ambassadors, organisers and even the hotel staff, you will always be with me in my thoughts and always bring a 'smile' to my face and heart!
The training that we all received was not only relating to a sales culture but also to life.... and I feel much more prepared for anything I encounter in life now.
Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance..... and boy, all I can say is that you all prepared this event properly as there wasn't one poor performance in sight!! Everything was organised with precision down the dot, timings, where everyone needed to be, lunch breaks and even the evenings.... and to anyone who knows me, knows how impressive I find this. I didn't want this week to end, and it was so sad when Saturday morning arrived and everyone was leaving. I shed a few tears, tears of sadness that we were all now going our separate ways but also tears of happiness that I had been given a chance to be part of this prestigious family.... all I can say is that I would sell my soul to be an integral part of Ispy 2013 and share this experience again!
Christine you have an absolutely amazing team, and every year as your Ispy family grows, you create many more amazing people. Thank you so much for this opportunity and Thank you for giving me many new friends and life skills.
Louise xx
Donna Gartland, ISPY Training Team, Thomas Cook Airlines UK
Well what can I say! I have had the most amazing experience of my life. I feel so privelaged to have been part of ISPY training this year. Frankie and Helen, you both know how to bring the best out in everyone with your belief in us all. I have learned to be more comfortable and confident in myself thanks to you. Our team 2011 has been the best. I will never forget any of you. You are amazing people and so happy to have met you all. The event itself has been phenomenal. Meeting people from all over the world and seeing the 'worlds greatest selling cabin crew' come together and share their passion for selling had been great. I feel so honoured to have been part of this 2011 experience and will remember it for ever.
Wojciech Grudkowski, Cabin Crew LOT Polish Airlines
I had arrived at Brighton excited but a bit stressed. Majority of us did not know what to expect. Assessment and competition do not sound friendly. ;) I am sure that after so warm welcome on Monday all negative emotions have disappeared but the excitement has grown.
Step by step we started to become friends. We got an incredible chance to spend the whole week together with the persons from all over the world who we could pass at the airports sometimes and say to them nothing besides HELLO. We had great time together; a lot of fun and each of us got huge support from each other. These emotions and moments none of us will ever forget.
I would like to thank you for excellent programme for the crews, the training sessions were very good prepared, the assessments were organized in friendly atmosphere and both the product enlightenments and the supplier showcases made us important parts of the onboard sale chain. I will never forget crew challenge task, its marvellous result made us better persons. WOW!
I am so impressed by evening attractions, they surprised us a lot.
Hard work brings fruitful results that is why I do want to thank the whole ISPY staff, all the trainers and ISPY ambassadors for their great job, support, help and smiles and hugs. You made us feel like at home! Every minute by all your activities you were proving us that KASH idea worked. I will miss you all and I do hope to meet you again once more.
Thank you for the ISPY. I am proud of being part of ISPY family now and I do promise to popularize the ISPY ideas. Best wishes to you all.
Mark Chambers, ISPY Training team, Thomson Airways
ISPY 2011 was one amazing event, but for me it was not just 1 week spent with the TRT team but 3 very special weeks. Spending time with Frankie and Helen learning the skills of how to train and present, looking at our strengths, weaknesses and working on our emotional intelligence was just a fantastic learning experience giving the ISPY training team the confidence, skills and positive motivation to get up and present to the “world’s greatest selling cabin crew”. For me personally it was a challenging couple of weeks but with the help, support and love of the whole team I got there and enjoyed every second of it, I just wish we could do it all over again. All I can say is a massive thank you to the team and I look forward to using the knowledge, attitude and skills by making them habits for years to come.
As for the event, outstanding just does not cover it, it evolves year after year with new content being added to the training courses, and a 1st for ISPY, a training session on customer service the enthusiasm from the crew was amazing and great fun was had, being the best they could be.
Being part of the training team this year I saw a different side to the event, seeing the hard work, passion and enthusiasm that goes on behind the scenes from the TRT team and sponsors, a week that was run with precision, dedication and like clockwork and we know that is only the half of it.
I am honoured and privileged to of been part of ISPY 2011 and cant believe I had the pleasure to work with an amazing team, and that my ISPY family has just been extended. Congratulations to Christine Martin and the whole of TRT for such a successful ISPY, an event like no other and something that is very hard to put into words, to really know what it is like you have to attend and experience it for yourself. Many thanks once again.
Kevin Henry, Cabin Crew Aer Lingus
To say that i had the week of my life would be an understatement. The learning, the skills, the memories but above all the friends i have made, will last forever. I cannot thank the ISPY team enough for all the time, effort and above all dedication that was shown. I am proud to be part of the Worlds Greatest Selling Cabin Crew but more importantly, i'm proud to have been a part of ISPY.
Anna Rautio-Finnilä, ISPY Training team, Finnair
Thank you very much iSPY!!
Again I was amazed how fantastic event iSPY really is. Well, it is run by very professional team. Thank You Christine, Frankie, He-len, Steve, Helen C and Mads.
I have been a trainer for Finnair over 10 years and I was pleased to notice that an old dog like me can really learn new tricks (this is a saying in Finland, I hope you get the picture. Please, don´t imagine me being a buldog...) To me training was really easy because I really believe in KASH concept. When you believe in something and you are sincere, it is easy to get your audience believe in you.
Working in a multicultural enviorement is challeging but only in a good way. I felt really honoured to work with everybody in the iSPY team. Thank you for your understanding and patience, particulary with my English as it is not my mothertongue. Thank you allso for laughing to my jokes.....
I feel really proud of myself. I worked hard like everybody else and I think we did good. I can´t wait to be in a cabin and show my colleagues and passangers my spirit (=passion) for selling.
With all my love,
Anna

Well what can I say about iSPY 2011. I thought that after iSPY 2010 my life had been changed in so many ways, and thought it couldn't possibly change again. How wrong was I...
After spending a week at iSPY 2011, assisting, training and supporting the Worlds Greatest Selling Cabin Crew the biggest feeling I have now is Pride. I felt like a proud father watching everyone through their own personal journey throughout the week and knowing that I was a small part of that is the greatest feeling, words cannot describe.
The week was a fun packed event with Training sessions, entertainment, and most of all spirit - delivered by every person that was at the event.
I know how I personally have grown so much over the past few months preparing for iSPY 2011 and I feel honoured and privaledged to have had the oppurtunity to train the crew at this fantastic event. I know it has changed my life once again and it just keeps going from strength to strength.
I would like to thank again Christine, all the team at iSPY for an amazing oppurtunity, and of course...The Worlds Greatest Selling Cabin Crew 2011 for making my week memorable and truly life changing.
If anyone has the chance to go through iSPY I cannot recommend this enough, you will come out of the other side a changed person, for the better.
