As usual each crew member will be allocated a practical assessment time, which could be Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. We will do our best to allocate timings which take into consideration possible jet lag and travel tiredness.
It is vital that you are familiar with the ISPY Inflight Retail brochure, products and brands. On Monday there will be a short session to familiarise yourself with the products. Use this time wisely!
The first assessment will be the written PA, where you will have a blank sheet of paper to write your "Sales generating PA". Time allowed for this is 45 minutes.
The second written assessment will be Product knowledge.Time allowed 1 hour. This will include various components covering brand awareness, "features and benefits" and general ISPY brochure product knowledge. Remember - it is a competition!! Preparation will make the difference between winning and losing.
The practical assessment will start with the waiting room. The products will be set out in trolley drawers for you to look at while you wait. You will then be taken through to complete your Product merchandising assessment. You will have 1 empty drawer and 5 minutes to create your sales display. The assessor will take photos and ask you questions about your display.
Having completed the product merchandising assessment, you and your trolley will be taken into the room where the Sales generating PA & Selling with emotional intelligence/maximising sales techniques assessments will take place.
You will have a total of 10 minutes in which to deliver your sales generating PA and sell to the customers.
Within the 5 days you spend at ISPY only 2 hours are taken up with assessments.

Can I open up products for my Product Merchandising assessment?
You cannot open any fragrances or cosmetics. You can open items that are not sealed, however if this then make the item unfit for sale - it is not allowed. Example.
